How do you feel about not having students from different countries at Harlaxton? Would foreign students make the experience better or worse?
OK, since the semester began, we at The Manor Mouse have given you about 50 examples of English words and phrases they use here in the U.K. that we'd never use in the same way in America.
Now it's your turn. We bet every one of you has come across several examples of how to speak English in ways we never learned in the United States, and this is the place to list them -- with the American translations, as best you can tell -- for the edification of all of us here and across the pond.
OK, the Harlaxton mock election results are in, but that only tells us so much. Why do you think Sen. Obama won? Why do you think he's the best candidate for president of the United States? Or why do you think Sen. McCain is? Or why do you think Sen. Clinton is -- or Ralph Nader?
Let's see the reasoning behind your vote. After all, there's still plenty of time to change each others' minds before we head home to the United States and cast our real votes in November.
